Like the Ouderkerk model this type of ice skates have been made by various
local blacksmiths. Most collectors indicate skates like this pair as
'Waddinxveen model'. Others say it should be called 'Bergambacht model'.
We prefer the latter as we think the model is much older than the
activities of the Waddinxveen blacksmith who made these skates. However,
it is difficult to deliver a water holding evidence.

This model can be indicated as transitional. The skates show the
characteristics of both the Ouderkerk and the Bergambacht model.

Concluding a pair of the Ouderkerk model is shown made by the same
blacksmith as the skates in figure 3. Detail 4 shows that the transition can
be seen as a logical evolution.
