Collectors call this model 'Ameider clogs'. The name comes from
Ameide a little village near Leerdam. At present the word 'clog' is only
used for 'wooden shoes' but formerly it indicated any wooden subject used to
be attached to the feet. The model in all respects is characterized by the
heavy execution. Ameider clogs always have a bit retarded necks and brass
finials (detail 1a). The shown skates have been made suitable for the Dutch
Roll in that the blades were grinded with a rather small radius.
